Scrumpy Jack
Every now and then I feel like a cider. I've drunk Scrumpy Jack enough times to know it isn't going to be a bad choice, but now it's time to get my thoughts about it down in writing.

Expectations
I've had Scrumpy Jack before, so I'm confident that I am going to like it. Can I remember what it tastes like though? No, of course not. It's 6% ABV so I would be lucky to remember my name after a few of these.
Experience
The cider is very clear and on the amber side of yellow, with lots of fast-moving bubbles that don't form a head. The smell is obviously apple cider, but not sweet or even what I would call fruity.
The taste is dry and refreshing, bitter and slightly sweet. It's really quite astringent, and I ended up smacking my lips after every sip. The alcohol content is quite high too, so there is a bit of a punch to go with it. I guess it does taste of apple, but only the kind of apple that they make cider from because it doesn't taste of eating apples, cooking apples, apple juice, or any other apple product I have tried.
This stuff is really easy to drink, which is a bit of a problem when it is 6% ABV. I could easily knock back several of these without even thinking about it.
Verdict
5/5 : Tasty and refreshing, and I want another one.
